Wealth. A job that gives you autonomy and a chance to make an impact. A good education. Your own space. Support from your friends and family. An open channel of communication with influencers and other innovative people. A strong network. The best software. The best hardware. The right equipment. Health. The freedom to decide how you distribute your time, energy and attention.
I’d like them too. But here’s the thing. None of the above is necessary. Useful, yes, but not necessary. You can go without them all and still find a way to do the work you need to do.
Ask yourself a question: “What more do I need?”
The answer is “nothing.” And any other answer you come up with is just an excuse you’re using to stall and avoid doing what needs to be done.
