Getting a slice of the two hundred billion

“There’s no opportunities. There’s no money.”

Stop whining. That spiel doesn’t fly.

Apple is sitting on two hundred billion dollars. That’s two hundred, followed by nine zeroes. And you’re telling me there’s no opportunity or money in the world? You’re wrong. There’s more money than we know what to do with.

The reality is, if you can become a person or do something that is valuable to others, you won’t need to worry about money or opportunity. They will come at you faster than you can handle.

Now, you could focus on the money part of that statement. How there’s billions sitting there, unused. But if you ask yourself, “well if there’s so much, why can’t I just have some? I only need £xyx to solve my problems”, what does that say about you? In my mind it says that you’re after a hand out, a freebie, a shortcut. You’re looking for someone other than you to solve your problems. You’re waiting for a superhero to swoop in and save the day.

Or you could focus on the “do something valuable” part and spend your time working on that.

It’s your choice. But remember two things:

1) There’s an abundance of opportunity in the world, you just have to be the sort of person and do the sort of things that attract it.

2) There’s plenty of money in the world, you just have to become someone, or do something, that is valuable to others.

When you look at it like that, it seems simple. Well, it really is that simple. If you want wealth, the only way is to create value.
