In my study, there are two pieces of art. I use the word “art” loosely. There are two 30cm x 30cm canvases, one placed just above the other.
The bottom canvas is completely white. The top canvas is completely black. The white one represents pure reflection. The black one represents pure action.
Neither pure reflection nor pure action creates a picture. It is the blend of the two, black and white, positive space and negative space, action and reflection that create a picture. That create a life.
That’s why they’re there. To remind me that the perfect relationship in life is the marriage of action and reflection.
